Picture of Kalani riding a horse « Result #3 Yesterday at 3:37pm »
Hi everyone. Hope you all had a nice xmas. Aliyah's younger sister got a toy horse yesterday and Kalani got curious about it. So I got a picture of him on it. Her younger sister likes him cause he gentle and lets her pet his back. She thought it was cute when he sat on her horse. Hope you all enjoy the picture.

My goodness Tuesday ,Your mother is having an awful time lately. Sure hope things start going better soon. They do such great things with hip surgery now. I have both my hips replaced. They are fine but in the meantime the rest of me fell apart

I love to see plastics reused. If you only reuse them a couple times it helps save earth resources. I love to use them over until my storage space fills up ,then off they go to the recycling bin.We recycle everything as they have gotten new equipment and we can just throw everything from cereal boxes to plastic grocery bags in the bin.

with all the animals in my home, we keep peanuts in a big cookie tin. Cat food, dog food, rat food, rabbit food and bird foods go into those big plastic Tidy Cat litter buckets. (you can also buy laundry soap in these buckets too) They are convenient because they are stackable and easy to store. the foods I buy less of go into 5 qt ice cream pails. We also use plastic coffee cans and blastic pretzel barrel jars. We go through lots of icecream, coffee and snacks in my house lol I have stacks of plastic containers in my basement.

Thank you. The Conures are trying again. This was their first Clutch with me, I bought them from a friend in October who was thinning her own flock, she had gotten 5 babies from them last spring before deciding to take down the nest box, then finally decide to sell them to me. I'm told it's common for the first clutch to be clear in a new surrounding.
I think I have my Budgie ratio wrong and my laying hen might not be paired up with anyone. plus I have two hens fighting over a compartment in the box we built.
The love birds are newly paired, this is their second clutch. the first were clear. this tie out of 7 eggs, we at least got one good one. The female really does owe me that since she killed one of my other males. I had two males, Pippin and Smeagle. I call this one Gollem because she took to Pippin instantly and killed Smeagle after I spent months trying to get Pippin and Smeagle to tolerate each other in the same cage.
The cockatiels are a funny lot because I had to separate my successful pair after my babies kept dying, fertile eggs would just stop developing and I occasionally assisted a chick in hatching, but after a few days it would stop growing and the parents would push it away anyway. After some asking where I got the parents, I found out they were siblings from 2 different clutches, my hen being the older one. 2 of My other hens are eager to lay, and boy do they lay, but no breeding. a lot of preening and grooming and feeding each other, but no breeding. I'm so frustrated!!!

I think I'll pass on the cat litter one. Just knowing the name of it and that tootsie rolls are in it would make it impossible for me to eat Thanks but no thanks Jill

I gave up on trying to determine the sex of a bird a long time ago. If I really want to know, I just get the vet to do a DNA test. Some people are really good at identifying them, and I'm not one of them Jill

Egg Comparison « Result #15 on Dec 24, 2009, 4:50am »
I was candling our clutches one day before the flu plowed me over and decided this was a fun idea. Only the love birds bit me and no birds were harmed and no eggs were damaged.
It dawned on me that although there are tons of bird owners out there, not everyone has seen their bird's (type) eggs.
From Left to Right: Budgie, Lovebird, cockatiel, Green Cheek Conure and just for kicks a Grade A Large Chicken Egg from Giant Eagle.
Of all the eggs I candled, and I do this once a week, only one Love bird Egg is fertile.

Thanks a lot. Just what fatty here needed. That recipe looks very good. Thank goodness I don't have time to make it right now or I am sure I would gobble it right down.

you know looking at that picture, I think my one pied male just may be a pearl pied... he's mostly white whith cinnamon pied markings, but come to think of it, he does have some white blushing going on on the grey feathers. I'll try to get pictures when I'm feeling better. I have the flu.
